What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I came into this work because I was drowning from all of the brokenness and traumas I've experienced. I started serving people because that's the only thing I knew to do and stumbled across counseling and my life completed changed. I invested myself in the healing of my clients because I believed at least one of us should be healed and discovered I too was being healed and I began to pursue and still pursuing healing for myself. I've learned that healing is a lifelong journey with no arrivals but a continued better version of ourselves.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
I'm a very laid-back, funny, let's purposely flow, straight shooter kind of person who loves integrating faith into our work for clients who desire that integration. Consequently, I utilize an array of treatment modalities and sources to help clients get a better insight into who they are, what they want/need, and effective ways to get there.
What does a first session with you look like?
I like to welcome clients, share a little about me, treatment style/therapy itself then review confidentiality and intro paperwork, which is the first 10-15 min. Then I get to know clients, ask questions, encourage clients, and prepare to start our journey.

Work History
Please reach out for scheduling availability. Hi, my name is Sandra Garcon Degerville. I am so excited you stopped by! I have a bachelor’s degree in social work from Florida Atlantic University and a master’s degree in social work from Boston College. Currently, I am pursuing my Doctorate in Education and Community Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy at Liberty University. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts with over 10 years of experience in providing individual, family, couple/marriage, and group therapy. In 2014, I founded The Wholeness Center, LLC (TWC) which provided counseling services with a specialization in Christian counseling. In February 2020, from the great foundation laid by TWC, I pivoted and founded The Healing Institute, LLC (THi). In addition to providing counseling services, THi will offer training & workshops for individuals, social service professionals, and churches, and create partnerships with churches to ensure education and access to needed counseling services and other virtual content. Also in 2020, The Sandra Garcon Degerville Ministries, LLC was birthed to build, educate, empower and propel people to their higher selves, through our educational programs, speaking engagements, and Coaching Life with Sandra. Clients are able to glean from over 25 years of education, experiences, failures, and victories for their development. I founded two nonprofit organizations, Sons and Daughters of Destiny Inc. and A Beautiful Me, Inc. ( renamed Legacy Builders, Inc), both designed to help build and support teens and young adults. I am a motivational teacher who is passionate about integrating faith and psychology into practical living. I am a wife, mom, serial entrepreneur, mentor, and overall creative soul. I pray to be remembered for my passion for Christ and my commitment to uplifting others. When I stand before Him, may He say I did not waste the gifts, talents & graces He so generously poured into my life.
