Are there any recurring themes or issues you’ve noticed as you treat people in your area of specialization, and how has this insight guided your approach?
A recurring theme I see is with couples. The main concern is usually poor communication. Without proper communication the relationship usually falls apart, like a tug of war and both sometimes will just give up. This has helped guide my approach to ensure that this issue is addressed and couples practice new ways to implement better communication skills, being assertive and being comfortable with sharing even if the other has a different opinion.
If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
I don’t really have a movie that inspired my approach to therapy. But if I have to choose I can say Lion King, because there comes a time world the world can seem either against you or crashing and you feel it is the end, and I am here to tell you that it’s not always the end result. Akunamata
How does collaboration with other providers play into your work?
Collaboration plays a role because I am able to share knowledge with other providers and network to have clients have a better referral system.
