In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
My approach is a compassionate, non-judgemental, caring way of being. Working with me can give you clarity about the past and a new understanding of yourself in the present so you can build a brighter future. If we work together, you will be able to understand yourself more deeply so that you can heal, grow and make positive changes. As a therapist, I pay close attention to details in the effort to fully understand a client's unique experience. I understand how difficult it is for a person to deal with negative thinking patterns. I am here to offer a helping hand in hopes of improving your quality of life. It is worth making the connection to start considering, professional help.
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
Success is a word that any therapist will like to have in their indv sessions. However, success can be measured in different ways. Each person has their own journey. The purpose of therapy is to address thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are interfering with your daily routine. A success will be where as a client you are growing and you are realizing you had unhelpful beliefs and thoughts and you are addressing it. As a client -you are learning new skills and making lasting positive changes.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
The barrier that I have encountered has been that people do not understand or accept that they are experiencing a treatable health condition. There is a huge lack of understanding of symptoms caused by several disorders. One of the other barriers related to the mentioned before is stigma and the negative stereotypes that prevent people to have full access to treatment.
