Get To Know Me
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
Success looks different for everyone because goals are individually discerned. But generally success looks like moving forward. Whether in relationships, a job, making a life transition, or how one deals with issues from their past, moving forward will look different in each individual because we are all different. Therefore progress in therapy can be a collaborative work between the client and therapist to determine what progress will look like.
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
In treatment, the goal is always that the client feels they are in a safe space and trusts me as their therapist. I do my part to encourage this in every session because I also needed this and understand how this can be the cornerstone of the healing process.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
One barrier to people seeking care is not knowing what to expect. Although most people understand why they are seeking therapy, they don't know what to expect from their therapist or where to begin once they are there. I encourage all that are seeking therapy to simply show up and allow us to guide you through the rest.
