What’s the most profound, insightful, or interesting thing you’ve learned as a mental health professional?

It is amazing how you can do something a hundred times, but when asked to focus in on a specific part during the hundredth and one time it opens up a whole new experience you can learn from in the moment.

If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?

"The Lost Art of Listening" by Michael P. Nicholas PhD. I read it every year to reteach myself the importance of listening as a skill set that should be tuned regularly.

Work History

I have had the pleasure of serving veterans and their families for the past five years. Prior to that I worked on the migration crisis in countries that experienced war, and those who opened their doors to welcome them. Throughout my travels as a provider I learned therapy looks different to everyone and what will be assistive to the goals in why they attend should be cultivated differently.
