How do you determine therapy goals with clients? What does that process look like?

During our first and second sessions, we will collaboratively develop the therapeutic goals you want to focus on. Therapy sessions can last between six months to a year or depending on the individuals's needs. If you are unsure of what to work on, I will support you in exploring specific, measurable, achievable, and relevant goals for your situation. Throughout our work together, we will address the core reasons you sought therapy and collaborating together to address what you need from the process. I will offer referrals to other providers if you and I are not the right fit or you are needing a more specialized treatment that is outside of my scope of practice.

How has your particular field of specialization evolved in recent years and how has that impacted your work?

My areas of specialization include Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction which involves being present with compassion and non-judgement, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Hypnotherapy with an emphasis on fostering supportive thoughts and enhanced relaxation, Brain-spotting for self-regulation, integration and processing of deep seated trauma and repressed emotions, as well as Nutrition & Yoga for mental health. These methods engage the mind, body, and intuitive processes to improve self-regulation, build confidence, and eliminate behaviors or symptoms associated with trauma, anxiety, depression, and more. Clients report feeling better, eliminating unwanted behaviors, and gaining clearer insights. Their progress encourages me to continue utilizing the various treatment modalities outlined above and to match them to the client's needs.

What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

From a young age, my spiritual practice fueled a deep passion for helping people overcome challenges and alleviate an array of problems and symptoms. This passion led me to the field of psychology, where I have dedicated my career to learning and completing a series of psychosomatic trainings aimed at enhancing overall mental wellness and self-regulation. I love what I do, and my clients' triumphs inspire me to continue dedicating my time to the helping profession.

Work History

I began my career in 2008 as an intern Marriage and Family Therapist in Los Angeles County, where I completed 3,000 hours of internship, providing individual therapy to children, families, and individuals. I then moved to New York City, where I continued delivering various therapy treatment modalities and trained in different methods of psychology. As a psychotherapist in New Jersey, I supported families in crisis and children at risk of removal from their homes. Additionally, I worked in private practice in New York providing family, child and individual therapy from multicultural backgrounds. For the past four years, I have continued running my private practice in Hawaii, where I currently reside. I have had the pleasure of supporting families, children, couples, and young individuals in addressing a variety of mood disorders, including depression, anger issues, self-esteem issues, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, grief, relationship conflicts, and more.
