Work HistoryAkira started her career working children in the schools, homes, and community setting. As she continued to expand her experience she began working with children and families that were dual diagnosed meaning they struggled with addiction and mental health concerns. She eventually transitioned to into management become a clinical supervisor over a men's rehabilitation center and later a clinical director. Not wanting to be totally removed from her passion for counseling, she transitioned into private practice over pursuing upper managerial options.
