Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I became a therapist because of my own experience with a counselor when I was younger. I worked with a man who helped me during a very difficult time. Out of the gratitude I had for how he helped me, I wanted to do the same for others. When I first started working in the mental health field, I realized trauma was a major factor in the mental health difficulties many faced. I became very passionate about helping people resolve the way traumatic experiences were still affecting them.
If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
Good Will Hunting has influenced my approach to therapy, particularly the way Robin Williams’ character shows up for his client. His style — warm, direct, humorous, and down to earth — is something I strive to embody in my own work. It’s a reminder that healing often happens not just through techniques, but through genuine human connection and showing up as a real, caring person in the room.
How does collaboration with other providers play into your work?
I am very passionate about learning how to help others more effectively. I regularly pursue ongoing training, about once a quarter, to update my clinical techniques and improve my overall therapy knowledge. I regularly seek consultation from other therapists who have more experience in certain areas. I also regularly purchase therapy treatment manuals to find new ideas and approaches to therapy.

Work HistoryI’ve spent over a decade helping people through challenges like trauma, grief, anxiety, and addiction. I started my career working with individuals facing substance use and mental health struggles in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Over the past five years, I’ve focused solely on mental health, specializing in trauma, grief, and anxiety.
