Work HistoryHi, I'm Alessandra Molina and I help adults and couples cultivate a deeper self-awareness that leads to conscious action and meaningful change. As your therapist, we’ll work collaboratively as we navigate your journey towards healing. You can expect to feel heard and understood without judgment while receiving client-centered, strengths-based, and culturally-informed therapy. In our work together, we’ll identify the obstacles and the destructive cycles that are getting in the way of your healing and growth. My practice focuses on working with folks who struggle with daily anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and/or challenges at work, home, or school. To meet the unique needs of my clients, some of the theoretical approaches I pull from include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, strengths-based therapy, solution-focused practices, and coaching. A little more about myself… I am a proud native Angeleno, first-generation college graduate, and Latinx therapist. My experience includes working with individuals of varying: gender identities, sexual orientations, socio-economic status, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds. My journey to becoming a therapist began in college as an undergraduate student at LMU where I spent most of my free time volunteering with a student-run community service organization. I worked at various placements throughout Los Angeles however my experience working with youth whose families were affected by incarceration sparked my trajectory. This brought me back to LMU to earn a degree in counseling, after which I began my career in counseling at the high school level where I continue to work along with Maralyn Therapy. I have extensive experience providing counseling and support for adolescents and their families who have been challenged with anxiety, depression, family conflicts, relationship concerns, identity and self-confidence struggles, and navigating an uncertain future. When I’m not at school or in session, I find rejuvenation through time with my family and friends, being outside, hiking, swimming, singing (privately) in my car, and my own therapy sessions! Things that bring me joy: black & white cookies, the smells of wet concrete and freshly mowed grass, the sound of my loved ones’ laughter. Things I’m working on: my cooking skills and remaining in the present.
