What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by personal experience with recovery and by seeing how meaningful the right kind of support can be. Going through my own challenges helped me understand how difficult it can be to seek help and how important it is to feel understood and taken seriously in that process.
Over time, I became interested in combining lived perspective with formal training and licensure so I could support others in a professional, ethical, and effective way. I value the role of many forms of support, including peer and community-based resources, and I was drawn to becoming a therapist in order to offer clinical care grounded in both empathy and evidence-based practice.

Education
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Master of Science, Addiction Counseling, 2021 — My degree is a CACREP accredited counseling degree meeting the highest standards for professional counseling in general. In addition, my specialty area was in addiction recovery and the neurobiology involved in the counseling process. My degree sparked my interest in interventions such as EMDR and neurofeedback therapy and set me on a path to ground my practice in neuroscience based therapy.
Work HistoryFrom 2016 to 2021, I worked as an addiction counselor in a residential treatment setting, providing intensive therapy while completing my graduate degree in counseling to expand my work into mental health and trauma care.
After earning my master’s degree in 2021, I served as Executive Director of a mental health assessment program, collaborating with psychiatric and neuropsychological providers to support individuals with complex concerns that had not responded to standard treatment approaches.
In 2022, I founded Neuro Nuance Therapy and EMDR, PLLC and began building a private practice focused on trauma recovery. I later served as Executive Director of a residential mental health program in 2023, where I led the development of a trauma-focused treatment team for clients struggling to make progress in outpatient care.
In 2024, I transitioned to private practice full time, where I now focus on individual trauma therapy. Supporting clients as they work toward healing, autonomy, and a more hopeful future is the work I find most meaningful.
