Get To Know Me
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Clients often tell me they leave sessions feeling more grounded, understood, and clear about what’s happening beneath the surface. Together, we work to uncover patterns and explore how past experiences shape the present, so you can respond in new, healthier ways. You can expect to gain insight into yourself and your relationships, a deeper sense of connection, and tools to help you navigate challenges with more confidence. My goal is that each session feels meaningful—that you walk away not only with greater understanding but also with a stronger sense of self and hope for change.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
From an early age, I was drawn to understanding people’s inner lives and the ways relationships and experiences shape who we are. While studying literature at Princeton, I became fascinated by how stories influence identity and meaning, which deepened my curiosity about the human experience. That curiosity led me to pursue a doctorate in Clinical Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, where I trained extensively in psychodynamic and attachment theory.
My path has included work in community clinics, schools, and hospitals, where I supported children, families, couples, and adults navigating challenges ranging from anxiety to relationship struggles. Along the way, I saw how powerful it can be to feel deeply understood and to make sense of patterns that once felt overwhelming.
I became a therapist because I believe change happens through relationships—by being heard, seen, and supported in a safe space. What continues to inspire me is watching clients move from feeling stuck or weighed down by old patterns to discovering greater clarity, connection, and freedom in their lives.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
Working with me means you’ll have a safe, supportive space where you can bring your whole self—without judgment. I take time to really listen and understand, and I believe that feeling deeply seen is the first step toward change. My style is collaborative and curious: we’ll work together to uncover patterns, make sense of emotions, and connect past experiences to your present challenges. Many clients say they appreciate that we’re able to get to the heart of the matter quickly, which helps each session feel meaningful. I’ll meet you with warmth, honesty, and care, while also gently challenging you when it can open new insight or growth.

Education
The Wright Institute, Doctorate of Psychology, Clinical Psychology, 2015 — During my doctoral training at The Wright Institute, I focused on psychodynamic theory, attachment, and relational approaches to psychotherapy. My dissertation explored the process of therapeutic change and how clients make meaning of their experiences in therapy. I also engaged in research on psychotherapy integration, contributing to a peer-reviewed publication. Beyond academics, I received extensive clinical training in community mental health, hospitals, and schools, which gave me a strong foundation for working with diverse individuals, couples, and families. This blend of rigorous academic study, clinical practice, and research informs my current work, where I integrate psychodynamic and attachment-based perspectives to support deep, lasting growth.
Princeton University, Bachelor of Arts, English Literature, 2005 — At Princeton University, I studied English Literature, focusing on themes of hybridity and identity in modern and postcolonial literature. My senior thesis explored how narrative and language shape human experience, which deepened my interest in the ways stories influence self-understanding. This training strengthened my ability to listen closely, think critically, and appreciate the complexity of people’s lives and identities—skills that continue to inform my work as a psychologist.
Work HistoryOver the past 15 years, I’ve worked with children, families, couples, and adults in a wide range of settings—including community clinics, schools, and hospitals. Early in my career, I focused on supporting families and young children, which gave me a deep appreciation for the importance of attachment and early relationships. During my time at UCSF’s Infant–Parent Mental Health program, I gained specialized training in how early experiences shape development and continue to influence us as adults.
Later, working in community mental health and private practice, I began to focus more on adults and couples who were struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, and family conflict. These experiences solidified my interest in psychodynamic and attachment-informed approaches, where we look beneath the surface to understand how past patterns show up in the present.
Today, in private practice, I bring together these years of training and experience to help clients feel understood, explore what’s been holding them back, and create meaningful change. Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, my goal is to provide a warm and collaborative space where insight leads to growth, healing, and stronger connections.
