I am straightforward, so I will give you that brutal honesty as compassionately as I can. Working with me will be learning to face all parts of yourself, even the ones that aren't as "put together".
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
The cost as well as the uncomfortableness to begin opening up to a stranger. This is why I offer a sliding scale for accessibility. It can indeed be awkward in the beginning, but it's all a part of the process. Therapists get nervous to meet you, too!
What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
Honesty and communication. If something isn't working, didn't land well, or if you feel stagnant in your progress, let me know! I am happy to adjust and try new ways that make therapy feel like a progression towards your goals is happening.
