Get To Know Me
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
Therapy with me doesn't feel like therapy in the traditional, stiff sense. I create a space where you can talk like a real person, with no pressure to use the "right" words or present yourself a certain way. I do use psychoeducation and evidence-based approaches, but the foundation of our work is honesty and connection. The most important thing you can bring into this space is a willingness to be real with me. Being truly seen by someone who isn't going to judge you is one of the most powerful parts of the therapeutic experience, and that's what I'm here to offer.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
My personality shows up in the therapy room in a real way. I'm humorous, down-to-earth, and direct, which means sessions don't have to feel heavy or formal to be meaningful. I'll make you laugh when it's appropriate, I'll be honest with you when it's needed, and I'll challenge you when I think you're ready to be challenged. At the same time, I lead with kindness and genuine warmth. My clients know that I'm in their corner not just for the duration of a session, but as a consistent, supportive presence throughout the work.
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
Life has taken me through many chapters growing up in a family impacted by addiction and mental illnesses, navigating grief and loss, and facing my own challenges as a woman. Those experiences don't make me an expert on anyone else's story, but they give me a depth of perspective that I bring into the room with every client. I don't come to this work from a purely academic place; I come to it as someone who understands, in a very human way, what it means to struggle and to keep going.
More than anything, those experiences confirmed what I believe I was always meant to do. Helping people isn't just my profession; it's the thing that makes sense of my own journey.
