What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
For me, trust is the foundation of everything in therapy. Without it, real growth is difficult to achieve. I believe that before any meaningful work can happen, a client needs to feel genuinely safe — safe to be honest, safe to be vulnerable, and safe to say the things they have never said out loud before. Building that trust is not something I take for granted. It is something I work toward intentionally in every session.

Education
University of Connecticut , Master of Social Work, Clinical Social Work, 2013 — I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Connecticut, where I specialized in Clinical Social Work. During my graduate training, I also pursued a focused area of study in mental health and substance use, providing me with additional skills to support clients facing a range of challenges — including those where mental health and substance use intersect.
My approach is rooted in evidence-based, trauma-informed care, meaning I draw on proven methods while recognizing how past experiences shape the way we think, feel, and cope. I work collaboratively with clients to build practical coping skills, strengthen resilience, and create positive, lasting changes that feel meaningful in everyday life. Above all, I am committed to offering a safe, nonjudgmental space where healing and growth can truly take hold.
Western Connecticut State University, Bachelor of Arts, Social Work , 2008 — I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Western Connecticut State University in 2008, graduating cum laude. I was also a member of Phi Alpha, the Social Work Honor Society, which recognizes students who demonstrate academic excellence and a strong commitment to the values of the social work profession. As a senior, I had the opportunity to lead a community organizing project focused on raising awareness around the Darfur genocide — an effort that also raised funds to help build fresh water wells and rebuild schools for those affected. My undergraduate studies introduced me to core social work principles, mental health, advocacy, and social justice — laying the groundwork for the clinical career and values-driven practice I have built in the years since.
