Work HistoryHello, I’m Amanda Donis, MA, LCPC.
Taking the step to start therapy is a powerful investment in yourself, and finding a clinician who understands the diverse, complex layers of life is essential. My career has been defined by meeting people exactly where they are—whether that is in the quiet safety of a therapy room or during life’s most intense, critical moments. I view therapy as a collaborative, deeply respectful partnership aimed at helping you build resilience, autonomy, and a secure sense of identity.
My Professional Journey & Education
My foundational training began at Benedictine University and culminated at Northeastern Illinois University, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology with minors in Social Work and Art. Recognizing my passion for systemic, relational healing, I also completed my Graduate Degree in Couples and Family Counseling at Northeastern.
Over the past several years, my career has spanned high-intensity crisis intervention and deep, specialized clinical work. I spent six years providing crisis stabilization for children and adolescents (ages 5–18) before transitioning into dedicated private practice. Today, alongside my private practice work, I serve as a Licensed Therapist with the Cook County Sheriff's Police, working directly alongside officers to provide immediate crisis interventions, community outreach, and mental health resources to individuals of all ages.
