Education
Fordham University, Doctorate of Philosophy, School Psychology, 2022 — A doctoral degree in school psychology represents the highest level of training at the intersection of mental health and education. This credential equips Dr. Marshall to provide both clinical therapy and comprehensive psychological evaluations (including assessments for ADHD, autism, and learning disorders) and gives her a deep understanding of how psychological challenges show up in academic and developmental contexts. For her doctoral research, Dr. Marshall investigated school psychologists' readiness to provide appropriate support for students with autism - work that reflects her longstanding commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practice and her belief that every student deserves clinicians who are truly prepared to serve them. As a licensed psychologist, Dr. Marshall is uniquely qualified to diagnose, evaluate, and treat a wide range of mental health conditions across the lifespan.
Fordham University, Therapeutic Interventions, 2021 — A Master of Science in Education with a focus on Therapeutic Interventions provided Dr. Marshall with advanced clinical training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, and trauma-informed methods. This degree bridges the gap between educational practice and mental health treatment, strengthening her ability to support clients who are navigating challenges that affect both their emotional wellbeing and their functioning in school, work, and daily life.
Columbus State University, Bachelor of Science, Psychology, 2015 — A Bachelor of Science in Psychology established the foundational scientific and clinical knowledge that underpins Dr. Marshall's practice. This degree provided rigorous training in human behavior, research methodology, and psychological theory. For her undergraduate research, Dr. Marshall examined attitudes toward parenting practices and advocated for positive parenting approaches - challenging cultural acceptance of unhealthy practices and centering the wellbeing of children and families. This early research reflects the values that continue to define her clinical work: evidence-based practice, cultural awareness, and genuine advocacy for the people she serves.
Work HistoryMy path to founding Inspire Psychology wasn't a straight line... and I think that actually makes me a better clinician. I have spent years working as a school psychologist across public and alternative school settings, where I supported students navigating learning differences, behavioral challenges, emotional struggles, and some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable, including youth involved in the juvenile justice system. That work has taught me how to meet people where they are, how to communicate across cultural differences, and how to make psychological concepts actually useful in real life rather than just in a therapy room. Alongside that, I worked in a group practice setting where I expanded my clinical training, supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults through anxiety, depression, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I developed my skills in CBT, DBT, ACT, and ERP, and discovered a real passion for working with neurodivergent individuals who had spent years being misunderstood by systems that weren't built for them. I have also had the opportunity to teach an advanced intervention seminar for school psychologists completing their final year of training, which keeps me sharp, connected to the latest research, and genuinely excited about the field I work in every day. All of that experience (clinical, educational, and community-based) is what I bring to every session at Inspire Psychology. My clients get a psychologist who has worked in schools, in group practices, and in the community, and who understands that mental health doesn't happen in a vacuum. It happens in classrooms, in families, in workplaces, and in the messy, complicated reality of everyday life.
