If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
Going to therapy and seeking help and guidance isn't a sign of weakness. It's s step forward in the right direction to show you want to make change in your life and want to strive to be better. It's okay to ask for help, we all need help at times. Talking with someone who is unbiased that offers a different perspective is what a lot of people need in order to see the bigger picture sometimes to make that change.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
I think 2 of the biggest barrier people have when seeking care is financial strain and scheduling. This is why I offer evening sessions, which works great for most people because they don't have to worry about taking time off from work to attend sessions. I also offer a sliding scale fee (if applicable) which is based on income, to a set number of clients who need this option.

Under Supervision: Amanda Schultz, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, 90915 is practicing under the supervision of Cathy Vick (Texas, LPC-S, 63400) at Private Practice.
Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases.
Education
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 2021
Work HistoryWhile in graduate school I worked as a child and adolescent case manager and then later a crisis worker. This provided me a lot of insight to all different age groups and mental health issues. While I loved the fast paced, 12hr shifts of crisis management, I had to move to my next adventure. I had a baby and decided to open up my private practice to focus on being a stay at home mom during the day (my #1 job) but also knew my ministry was helping others. I've been so blessed to have the best of both worlds. Becoming a mom has changed my perspective which is why my specialties include pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, and marriage.
