Get To Know Me
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
Therapy with me is collaborative, conversational, and grounded in both evidence and empathy. I use CBT, DBT, and relational approaches to help clients understand patterns, manage emotions, and make meaningful changes in their daily lives. I’m also trained in the Gottman Method for couples and EMDR for trauma, which means I can flex between skill-building and deeper emotional work depending on your needs.
You can expect a mix of practical strategies and reflective conversations. I’ll help you connect what’s happening now to the bigger picture—your values, your relationships, and the parts of your story that still shape you. I’m direct but compassionate, and I see therapy as a space where honesty and humor are both welcome.
Whether we’re working on anxiety, depression, or relationship challenges, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, capable, and connected—to yourself and the people who matter most.
What does a first session with you look like?
Our first session is about getting to know you—your story, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of it. I’ll ask about your background, current stressors, and what’s been helping or not helping so far. We’ll also talk about how therapy works, what you can expect from me, and what kind of support feels most useful to you.
It’s a relaxed conversation, not an interrogation. You don’t have to have everything figured out or know exactly where to start. My role is to help guide the process, make sure you feel comfortable, and start identifying a few goals we can work toward together.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a sense of how I work and whether it feels like a good fit. From there, we’ll decide together how often to meet and what areas to focus on first—whether that’s managing anxiety, improving relationships, processing past experiences, or building new coping skills.
