Work HistoryHi, I’m Ambur — I’ve spent over 15 years working in healthcare and mental health settings, supporting people through major life transitions, trauma, and emotional challenges. My background blends clinical experience, leadership, and hands-on care, which allows me to approach therapy from both a compassionate and practical perspective. Before becoming a therapist, I worked for many years in the medical field and later helped lead programs in the Department of Veterans Affairs that focused on access to care and support for LGBTQIA+ veterans. Those experiences gave me a deep understanding of how systems impact people’s wellbeing and how important it is to create safe, affirming spaces for healing. In my current clinical work, I support individuals, families, and couples using a mix of evidence-based and mindfulness-based approaches. I often work with people who are healing from trauma, struggling with anxiety or depression, or navigating issues around identity, relationships, addiction or self-worth. I use tools like EMDR, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness practices — but my focus is always on meeting you where you are and finding what actually helps you feel better and more in control of your life. I also specialize in trauma-informed and gender-affirming care, helping clients explore who they are and what they need without judgment. My time in both healthcare and therapy has shown me that healing isn’t just about managing symptoms — it’s about helping people reconnect with themselves, feel empowered, and build relationships that support their growth.
