Education
Bryn Mawr College, Doctorate of Philosophy, Social Work & Social Research , 2022 — Skills in writing and research were laboriously (!) honed in my PhD program at Bryn Mawr College and led to several publications in peer-reviewed academic journals, as well as opportunities to present original qualitative research studies on immigrants and refugees, and ecological and social justice at national conferences, such as the American Public Health Association (APHA), Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), and the Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR).
Rutgers University, Master of Social Work, Social Work , 1999 — Studied clinical social work and related theoretical concepts for the provision of psychotherapy, such as person-in-environment and systems theory.
Work HistoryI am a spiritually-inclined, holistic-oriented, existential, and empathic practitioner of over 20 years. I offer an eclectic blend of cognitive-behavioral therapy, attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, ecotherapy, and creative expression, integrated as appropriate with talk therapy. I am a Bryn Mawr College graduate and published author of a non-fiction book on ADHD (published by Routledge) and several peer-reviewed academic journal articles. I have also taught in academia for a decade and present original studies at national conferences. Over the course of my career, I have been blessed and honored to travel along the journey of life with many individuals of all ages, as well as couples, groups, and families, of diverse and multicultural populations. I met many of these individuals while working in various contexts, such as a federally-qualified community health center in Worcester, Massachusetts, a wilderness therapy program in northern Maine, alternative schools, hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, and private group practices.
