What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach to therapy is gentle, collaborative, and deeply attuned to your unique needs, values, and pace. I strive to create a space where you feel truly seen, supported, and understood—not only as an individual, but within the context of your culture, identity, and lived experiences. Culturally sensitive care is at the heart of my work, and I honor the diverse backgrounds clients bring into the therapeutic space. Together, we will explore your experiences with compassion and curiosity, helping you reconnect with your inner resilience and the strengths that have carried you through. I believe healing unfolds when you feel safe enough to be yourself, and I am committed to walking alongside you as you create meaningful and lasting change. If you feel ready to begin your healing journey, it would be an honor to support you.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist grew from a genuine passion for helping others feel supported and understood. I was especially inspired by the stigma I saw around mental health in minority and Latino communities, where many people felt they had to struggle alone. I wanted to be part of breaking that stigma and creating a safe, culturally sensitive space where people can speak openly and heal. Being able to support others on their journey and witness their resilience is what continues to inspire me every day.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
If there’s one thing I wish people knew about starting therapy, it’s that you don’t have to have everything “figured out” to begin. Therapy isn’t about being judged or analyzed—it’s about having a safe, supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are. Feeling hesitant is completely normal, especially if therapy hasn’t always been talked about openly in your community. But once you take that first step, you may find that therapy can offer relief, clarity, and a sense of being truly heard in a way many people have never experienced before.
