Work HistoryWelcome! I have been an independently licensed social worker since 2010, and have spent most of my career working with children and families across a variety of settings. I have worked with children placed in foster care and their foster, adoptive, and birth families for several years, providing me with a strong background in trauma-informed care and interventions. I also have experience working in early intervention as a home visitor and parent educator with families and their children from birth to age 3, as a therapist in community mental health, and as a trainer and educator for adult learners within the child welfare system. My approach to therapy involves creating a nonjudgmental and supportive space, and to serve as an empathetic catalyst to help my clients create and reach their personal goals. My practice is rooted in a person-centered, strengths-based perspective, acknowledging systems of oppression and their affects on individuals and families, and drawing on cognitive-behavioral and trauma-informed concepts. My passions include supporting parents during the postpartum period and supporting children and families within the foster care system. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, read, and I enjoy serving my community as a peer breastfeeding counselor.
