Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I was drawn to becoming a therapist through both lived experience and a deep respect for the healing process. Early in my life, I became aware of how trauma, stress, and unspoken pain can shape behavior, relationships, and self-worth—often beneath the surface. I saw how many people function well outwardly while quietly struggling internally, and how transformative it can be to feel truly seen, understood, and supported.
My path led me to formal clinical training, where I earned degrees in psychology and clinical mental health counseling and pursued specialized education in trauma-informed, somatic, and sex-positive therapy. Throughout my training and professional work, I was consistently inspired by the resilience of clients and the power of a therapeutic relationship grounded in safety, curiosity, and respect.
I chose this profession because I believe healing happens when people are given space to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and make sense of their experiences without judgment. Being a therapist allows me to walk alongside others as they build self-trust, emotional clarity, and a more grounded relationship with themselves and their lives.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
My personality naturally shapes my work as calm, grounded, and attentive. I bring a steady, thoughtful presence to sessions, which helps clients feel safe slowing down and exploring experiences that may feel overwhelming or difficult to name. I am naturally curious and reflective, and I approach therapy with warmth, honesty, and respect rather than judgment or urgency.
I also believe humor, when used thoughtfully and appropriately, can be a powerful therapeutic tool. Gentle humor can help ease tension, build connection, and make difficult topics feel more approachable. I balance compassion, attunement, and structure with moments of lightness, creating a space that feels human, collaborative, and supportive of meaningful change.
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
Success in therapy looks different for each client, but it often shows up in subtle, meaningful shifts rather than sudden change. Clients may notice they feel more grounded, less reactive, and better able to tolerate emotions or uncertainty. Situations that once felt overwhelming may begin to feel more manageable, and patterns of avoidance, self-criticism, or fear may soften over time.
Progress is reflected in increased self-awareness, improved coping skills, and greater confidence in responding to challenges rather than feeling controlled by them. Clients may notice changes in relationships, boundaries, sleep, or their ability to stay present during stress. We regularly reflect on goals together so clients can recognize these changes and understand how their internal experience is evolving as therapy continues.

Work HistoryMy clinical experience has been shaped by working in both private practice and higher-acuity treatment settings with a wide range of clients and concerns. In private practice, I provided in-person and virtual therapy to individuals, couples, and groups, supporting clients from approximately ages 7 to 65. This work allowed me to develop depth in treating anxiety, trauma, relationship and intimacy concerns, identity issues, and life transitions, while learning how to adapt my approach to different developmental stages, family systems, and relational dynamics.
I have also worked in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) setting with Charlie Health, where I facilitated therapy groups for adolescents and adults experiencing higher levels of emotional distress. In this role, I supported clients navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, identity concerns, and crisis-level stress. I led a variety of groups, including process groups, skills-based groups, creative expression groups, and identity-affirming spaces, including bilingual Spanish-speaking groups and LGBTQIA+ affirming groups.
Across these settings, my expertise developed through consistent, hands-on work with diverse populations, varying levels of acuity, and different treatment formats. This experience has shaped a flexible, grounded approach that balances emotional safety, practical skill-building, and relational connection, allowing me to meet clients where they are while supporting meaningful and sustainable change.
