Education
Northwest University, Master of Arts, Clinical Psychology, 2024
Work HistoryBefore becoming a therapist, I supported people through some of the most intense and vulnerable moments of their lives—whether they were in a mental health crisis or navigating big transitions in care. My early work as a crisis counselor taught me how to stay present and grounded in the face of panic, and how to hold space with compassion, curiosity, and calm. I learned to listen closely not just to what someone is saying, but to what might be going unsaid. Later, I worked more directly in ongoing mental health care, where I had the chance to build longer-term relationships with clients. I focused on creating trust, asking thoughtful questions, and tailoring support to each person’s needs. I used approaches like motivational interviewing to help people identify their own goals and take steps toward meaningful change. I also helped organize care plans, coordinated services, and created systems to keep therapy clear and collaborative. My background in psychology and research gave me an early understanding of how identity, mental health, and self-worth can shape someone’s experience in the world, especially for folks navigating performance pressure or complex internal narratives. Across all my roles, I’ve stayed committed to offering care that is nonjudgmental, culturally responsive, and centered on real human connection.
