Work HistoryMy career started with teaching in elementary education. After a couple years I realized that's not where I wanted to be and ended up with a Diploma in Paralegal Studies. I worked in a county attorney's office focused on child support as well as a clerk with the court. Realizing all the day to day problems people face led me to my Master in Social Work. I worked in a women's shelter several years going to court with women who were being abused and helping through that process which, of course led to some counseling. After that I developed a program for domestic violence in a women's substance abuse program. Later I worked several year in a child advocacy center with a multidisciplinary team supporting child sexual abuse victims and their families. For the next 20 plus years I worked in community mental health in rural and urban areas. I provided mental health services in schools, homes, and office settings with all ages. I now work in private practice and look forward to working with an even broader community.
