In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
My personal experiences have deeply shaped how I connect with and support my clients. Like many people, I’ve faced challenges in life that required me to do my own healing work—this allows me to approach therapy with a strong sense of empathy, patience, and non-judgment. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to open up and work through difficult emotions, and I honor that bravery in every client I meet. Having navigated my own path of growth and resilience, I’m especially passionate about helping others tap into their own strength and inner wisdom. These experiences help me show up not just as a clinician, but as a human being—someone who truly “gets it” and is committed to walking alongside clients as they move toward healing and clarity.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
My personality plays a significant role in how I approach therapy. I’m naturally empathetic, which helps me connect with clients on a deeper level. I tend to be a good listener, and I believe that creating a safe, non-judgmental space is key to helping people feel comfortable sharing their most vulnerable thoughts and feelings. I’m also patient and genuinely curious about each client’s unique story, which allows me to tailor our work together to their individual needs. At the same time, I have a grounded and calm demeanor that helps clients feel supported, even when tackling difficult or overwhelming emotions. I approach therapy with a sense of compassion and authenticity, aiming to make each person feel seen and heard. I’m also known for being down-to-earth and approachable, which helps make therapy feel more like a conversation than a clinical session. My goal is to create an environment where clients feel empowered to explore and make meaningful changes at their own pace.
What’s the most profound, insightful, or interesting thing you’ve learned as a mental health professional?
One of the most profound things I’ve learned as a mental health professional is the incredible resilience people possess, even in the face of immense pain or hardship. Time and time again, I’ve seen clients tap into strengths they didn’t realize they had—whether it’s through small, everyday acts of courage or significant breakthroughs in their healing process. This resilience isn’t always obvious at first, but it's always there, and it reminds me that, even in our most difficult moments, there’s potential for growth and change. I've also learned that healing doesn’t look the same for everyone, and that’s okay. People’s journeys are uniquely their own, and part of my job is to meet clients where they are without judgment, and to honor their pace. Sometimes the most profound work happens in the quiet, unspoken moments of therapy. It’s not just about what we discuss in the room; it’s about the space we create for self-reflection and personal insight to unfold. Lastly, I’ve come to understand that the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful tool for growth. Building trust and safety between therapist and client can be transformative, and it’s a reminder of the importance of human connection in healing.

Education
Nova Southeastern University, Master of Science, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 2022
Throughout my graduate studies, I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practices, with focused training in trauma-informed care, multicultural counseling, and eating disorder training. Instead of a traditional thesis, I completed a rigorous comprehensive exam, demonstrating a broad and integrated understanding of key clinical concepts and ethical standards. During this time, I was also involved in CSI, clinical placements, and research, which enriched my academic and professional development and prepared me to serve clients with insight, empathy, and integrity. Currently, I am a PhD candidate in the field of counseling, further expanding my clinical, supervisory, and research competencies. This ongoing training allows me to offer clients a deeply informed, reflective, and up-to-date therapeutic experience.
Work History
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of mental health settings, which has shaped the way I show up for clients today. I’ve supported individuals and families through everything from everyday stress and life transitions to more complex trauma and mental health challenges. My early work involved community mental health, where I gained hands-on experience working with diverse populations and learned how important it is to meet people where they are—both literally and emotionally. I’ve also worked in private practice settings, where I was able to dive deeper into my special interests, like trauma recovery, relationship dynamics, and helping people break unhelpful patterns rooted in early life experiences. In addition to direct client care, I’ve been involved in clinical supervision, group facilitation, and teaching, which continues to fuel my passion for helping others grow—both my clients and future therapists. I approach my work with curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story.
