What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

My Journey into Mental Health and Holistic Healing My journey into mental health and holistic healing began in my early years, shaped by personal experiences with emotional challenges and a deep curiosity about the mind-body connection. Growing up, I witnessed how resilience and self-discovery could transform lives, and this inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others navigate their struggles and uncover their inner strength. This passion led me to pursue advanced education, earning a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and Personalized Cognitive Counseling. But my path didn’t end there. Feeling called to expand my understanding beyond conventional approaches, I spent nearly a decade in the Amazonian jungles of Colombia. There, I had the privilege of studying holistic healing practices with the Siona Tribe and apprenticing under skilled curanderos. Those years were transformative, teaching me the profound interconnectedness of mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. In my practice, I integrate evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with the wisdom I’ve gained from holistic and Indigenous healing traditions. ACT allows me to help clients develop mindfulness, accept life’s challenges, and align their actions with their core values. Together with holistic approaches, I offer a comprehensive path to healing that honors the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. I am deeply committed to creating a compassionate and safe space where my clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Having walked through my own struggles with depression, anxiety, and addiction, I understand what it feels like to face life’s darkest moments. This lived experience fuels my dedication to helping others transform their pain into growth, foster resilience, and rediscover purpose and joy. I believe we all have an innate capacity for healing, and my mission is to guide you on your unique journey toward wholeness and fulfillment.

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

My ideal client feels stuck in pain, whether it's due to depression, anxiety, addiction, or a loss of purpose. They’ve tried conventional therapies but found only temporary relief, and now they are ready for a deeper, more transformative healing journey. They are looking for someone who truly understands their struggles and offers a safe, non-judgmental space to explore and process their emotions. Their ultimate goal is to find peace, heal old wounds, and reconnect with their inner strength. They are seeking to feel whole again, face life’s challenges with resilience, and rediscover the joy they’ve lost. My ideal client is ready to embrace a powerful journey of self-discovery and transformation—and they want to reclaim control of their life with lasting change and a renewed sense of purpose.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

My therapeutic approach is built on compassion, collaboration, and holistic care. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. I believe in meeting clients exactly where they are, tailoring our work together to honor their unique needs, experiences, and goals. I blend evidence-based techniques with a focus on nurturing the mind-body connection, emphasizing personal growth, resilience, and lasting well-being. My style is warm, supportive, and intuitive, fostering a deep sense of trust and openness. I integrate tools from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and other therapeutic modalities to guide clients in navigating life’s challenges, finding inner strength, and cultivating sustainable transformation. Drawing from my own life experiences, I approach therapy with authenticity and empathy, helping clients uncover their inner healer. Together, we will explore how to transform pain into growth, build meaningful connections, and empower you to live a more fulfilled and balanced life.

Work History

My work experience has been deeply shaped by a blend of personal challenges, education, and hands-on practice. Early in my career, I found myself drawn to working with individuals facing depression, anxiety, and addiction. Through these experiences, I developed a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and the unique ways people cope with pain. Over time, I became increasingly curious about holistic approaches to healing and how to integrate the mind, body, and spirit into mental health care. This curiosity led me to spend nearly a decade in the Amazonian jungles of Colombia, where I had the honor of learning from the Siona Tribe and skilled curanderos. These years profoundly influenced my understanding of healing and taught me the importance of looking beyond symptoms to address the root causes of distress. In my formal education, I earned a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Personalized Cognitive Counseling, which gave me the foundation to combine evidence-based techniques like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with holistic approaches. This blend allows me to help clients not only manage their struggles but also grow into the best versions of themselves by aligning their actions with their values and embracing mindfulness. Every client I’ve worked with has helped me grow in my expertise. Whether it’s supporting someone as they navigate loss, helping a couple rebuild trust, or guiding someone out of the grip of addiction, these experiences have refined my ability to meet people where they are and guide them toward lasting transformation. Above all, my work has taught me the power of empathy, authenticity, and connection. I bring those values into every session to create a safe space for my clients to heal and thrive.
