What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Growing up, I had so many questions about the world around me. I deeply wanted to understand the painful experiences and conflicts of those closest to me, secrets kept by family, and the inner workings of relationships. As I got older, I yearned to find a way to help and support others with difficult circumstances. During my freshman year of college, a close friend confided in me their past trauma. As my education in psychology continued, it became clear, through further disclosures from those close to me, that many individuals struggle with crises in their lives. This taught me the value of listening and validation. It sparked my interest in counseling, which has changed my life forever.
