What are your biggest strengths as a therapist?
One of my biggest strengths as a therapist is my balance of guiding and directing. My goal is to always meet clients where they are, knowing when I need to be more directive and knowing when to give space and simply just be present with my clients.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
After struggling with social anxiety and depression throughout high school and college (and doing a lot of therapy for myself), I realized that I was immensely passionate about therapy and what it can offer people. I decided to pursue therapy once I tried a lot of other jobs that never seemed to fit. I'm inspired by the clients who show bravery to explore their lives.
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
I find that clients feel successful in therapy when they understand themselves in a deeper way than when they started. This can look so many different ways, but oftentimes I'll hear back from clients saying that they feel less conflicted abou things and more confident about themselves and their choices.
