Work HistoryWelcome, I’m Ariel, a LCSW a licensed therapist, here at Deep Eddy Psychotherapy and it is an amazing step that your here to begin your healing journey through therapy.I understand your comfort and trust are crucial into getting the most out of therapy. So continue to read more about my background and approach so you can make informed decision about whether we can work together effectively. The desire to learn more about my own family system and environments impacted my mental health and the tools that can lead towards healing and growth were the primary catalyst behind my journey as a clinician. I was primarily raised in San Antonio,TX and started my academic journey completing my Psychology degree at University of Texas at San Antonio in 2016. Discovering a deep interest into how individuals unique systems and backgrounds impact their mental health and overall life I dove into the Master of Social Work field at Our Lady of the Lake University earning my degree in 2021. After this I began to work in a clinical setting for 3 years at a residential treatment. I was able to hone in and identify my skills and specialties. I specialize in work with those who often find themself feeling stuck and discontent with life. Which show their face as perfectionism, low self-esteem, depression, self-sabotaging and anxiety as a result of the residual impacts of my specialty areas of focus: family of origin issues, trauma, grief or addiction. As a LCSW , I've worked in residential treatment serving patients with dual diagnosis. In this setting I was able to gain experience in providing, individual, group, family and couples from age ranges of 17yo to 60 yo.I am committed to creating a therapeutic space where clients are free to be themselves and openly express all emotions and be curious as they begin to explore and issues and concerns they are seeking out therapy for. Additionally, I offer speciality therapy such as EMDR, DBT, CPT and MBCT therapy and approach therapy from a person centered trauma informed lens with an authentic vibe that is both challenging yet compassionate. A few other roles I enjoy outside of being a therapist are a boy mom, cat & dog mom and wife. Outside of sessions I enjoy outside time with my family , games nights and just simply vegging out as a family. For my personal time I enjoy reading, doing diamond art and yoga. I am also a certified 500-Registered yoga teacher and is part of the reason I am mindful in creating an authentic, non-judgement space that feels safe for your nervous system.I look forward to the honor of getting to know you and walking alongside you in your healing.
