Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I have been on a long personal journey to explore how my complex trauma impacts my life, and I would like to share all the understanding, knowledge, experience, and empathy with clients. Complex trauma can come from many different places and times in life, but at its base those with CPTSD often struggle with emotional regulation, self image, and how to build and maintain health relationships. It can start or show up later in our relationships with family, friends, and loved ones. I myself left a long term emotionally abusive relationship and have spent four years since then unraveling the CPTSD in therapy. As complex trauma and emotional abuse are still just being recognized by society, it holds a dear place in my heart.
In the last couple years I have been on a simultaneous journey exploring my neurodiversity. It has opened my eyes to wanting to live in a neurodiversity- affirming world, life, and relationships, and to want wider recognition for neurodiversity in how it intersects with our many different identities.
