Under Clinical Supervision

Baylee Kufahl, Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate, 12328 is practicing under the supervision of Jacob Henry (Oklahoma, LPC-S, 12106) at Ellie Mental Health.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.

What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

As cliche as it sounds my passion for helping others stemmed from the teenage girl I use to be who just wished she had a safe place to talk and figure out her emotions. If I can help just one person through their depression, anxiety, or whatever circumstance they are going through it is all worth it to me. It is hard to open up to a person who doesn’t have the personal experience to really understand what it’s like. I think this gives me a major advantage in my sessions.

In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?

I am very outgoing and like to have fun, I am not a very Freudian therapist. I like to really establish rapport and trust with my clients so they feel comfortable to share with me and create an honest professional relationship. By being able to adapt to each clients needs and individualize their treatment plans with their collaboration it creates a more positive and light environment.

Work History

I started my journey in the mental health field as a Case Manager at CREOKS, I have worked there for almost two years in which I have been trained and done SOC / Wraparound services with higher needs families helping them to develop plans for success and create tools for independence. In my Masters program I did my full practicum and internship at Anchored Behavioral Health where I saw a lot of LGBTQ+ populations and did couples therapy. I currently practice at Ellie Mental Health where my focus is adolescence and young adults however, I do see children as young as 5 and adults up to 200!
