Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to this work began with a fascination for human narratives—the ways we make meaning of pain, the quiet resilience that emerges in struggle, and the transformative power of being truly validated, seen, and celebrated. Early experiences supporting friends through mental health challenges revealed how healing happens in relationships. This led me to my pursuit of a Doctorate degree in psychology and consequent desire to attain my psychotherapeutic licensure. It was during this time that I had the opportunity to work with diverse clients navigating trauma, identity shifts, and the weight of "not enoughness." What struck me most wasn’t just the suffering, but the profound courage people showed in facing it. I witnessed how therapy could help rewrite limiting narratives and reconnect individuals with their innate wisdom. Those moments—when a client recognizes their own strength, sheds an old story, or finally feels compassion for a wounded part of themselves—are why I do this work. I’m continually humbled by the trust clients place in this process. My approach is shaped by both professional training and the fundamental belief that growth and evolution flourish in spaces of safety and authenticity. Every person’s journey is unique, but I’ve learned that healing often begins when we stop running from our experiences and start meeting them with curiosity instead of judgment.
What does a first session with you look like?
Our first meeting is a chance for us to connect and begin building a foundation of trust. I know starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so we’ll move at your pace. You’ll have space to share what’s bringing you in—whether it’s a specific challenge, a general sense of being stuck, or simply a desire to understand yourself better. I’ll ask questions about your background, current struggles, and hopes for therapy, but you’re always in control of how much you disclose. This session isn’t about fixing everything at once; it’s about seeing if we’re a good fit and starting to map out your path forward. We’ll discuss what’s working in your life, what isn’t, and where you’d like to grow. By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of how I work and what our next steps might look like. Most importantly, you should leave feeling heard and hopeful—therapy is a process, and we’ll develop our approach together over time.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I prioritize clarity and openness to create a safe, non-judgmental space. You'll find me warm yet direct - I listen actively, reflect thoughtfully, and ask questions that help uncover deeper insights. When we hit difficult moments, I remain calm and patient, moving at your pace while gently challenging growth areas. Think of me as an empathetic partner in your self-discovery: I'll sit with your emotions without judgment, offer honest feedback when helpful, and celebrate your progress along the way. My goal is to help you feel both heard and empowered in every conversation.

Education
Walden University, Doctorate of Philosophy, Research Psychology, 2022 — PhD in Psychology – Walden University
I earned my PhD in Psychology from Walden University, where my dissertation focused on caregiver burnout among individuals supporting loved ones with substance use challenges, and explored how religiosity and spirituality can serve as effective coping mechanisms. This work deepened my understanding of the unique emotional, mental, and spiritual challenges faced by caregivers and strengthened my ability to provide empathetic, evidence-based support.
My training allows me to combine rigorous research with practical strategies, helping clients and caregivers navigate stress, foster resilience, and find meaningful ways to care for themselves while supporting others.
Walden University, Master of Science, Research Psychology, 2016 — I hold a Master’s in Research Psychology from Walden University, where I honed my skills in understanding human behavior through evidence-based research. This training allows me to bring a science-backed, compassionate approach to my work—blending research insights with real-world application to support personal growth, mental wellness, and meaningful change.
Work HistoryThroughout my career, I have had the privilege of walking alongside a wide array of individuals—children discovering their voices, adolescents navigating the turbulence of growing up, adults confronting stress and life transitions, and culturally diverse communities facing unique challenges. Each experience has deepened my understanding of the human experience and strengthened my ability to meet people where they are, with compassion and respect.
My background in research psychology allows me to weave evidence-based insights into every interaction, ensuring that the strategies I offer are both practical and effective. I focus on person-centered care, tailoring my approach to each client’s strengths, needs, and goals.
At the heart of my work is a belief in the resilience and potential of every individual. By combining empathy, cultural sensitivity, and scientifically informed techniques, I help clients navigate life’s challenges, foster growth, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
