Get To Know Me
If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
My practice utilizes evidence-based knowledge and techniques to diagnose and treat patients with mental illnesses such as anxiety, depression , PTSD and ADHD. I use medication management along with supportive talk therapy. Individuals benefit from a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses all dimensions of mental health and addresses the psychological and biological factors that contribute to their condition. This integrated approach of combining psychotherapy and medication offers the best chance for long-term recovery, improved functioning and overall well-being. The first visit focuses on building a therapeutic relationship and trust. I will empathize and your concerns will be discussed. By the end of the first session you will feel emotionally safe and treatment goals/plans will be formulated.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
Patients often describe my approach as non-judgmental, gentle and caring, with encouragement to challenge you to grow. For those who desire faith-based therapy, I incorporate Christian values into our visits, including prayer and biblical truths. Although patients may have severe symptoms and interpersonal issues, I believe we are resilient and capable. I take an approach that focuses on your strengths and resources rather than your weaknesses or difficulties.
