Education
Georgia State University, Master of Education, School Counseling, 2004 — Also obtained an Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) in School Counseling in 2006 (an additional Master's). I worked as a school counselor for 14 years, before transitioning full-time to private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (licensed since 2009).
University of Michigan, Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, 2000
Work HistoryMy dedication to helping people began at a young age. I started babysitting neighborhood kids when I was 11yo and helped raise my sister (who is 12 years younger than me). My degree in Psychology helped me work with a variety of people who were experiencing mental health needs before I attended graduate school. After receiving my Master's in Education, I worked as a middle school counselor for 14 years. While I thoroughly enjoyed working with this age group, I knew there was a need for more individualized therapy. I completed supervision for professional counseling and was licensed as a Professional Counselor in GA in 2009. I slowly grew my private practice in the evenings and weekends (while still maintaining my full time school counseling position). In 2018, I fully transitioned to solo private practice. I am honored to help adults (individuals and couples) reach their therapeutic goals.
