Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I grew up engaging in somatic and dance movement practices as a way to establish a healthier mind and body relationship while experiencing chronic health issues. It was through these practices that I stepped into my own therapeutic work and noticed the way these tools and insights allowed me to deepen my relationships, transform my pain, and make meaning out of my life. I was always described by my teachers and peers as a mini therapist growing up. I had a natural inclination to want to help people and knew that facilitating comfortable spaces for people to process and feel was a strong value of mine. It was a very natural decision for me to pursue this profession.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My therapeutic approach stems from the concept of mutuality. Mutuality is an empathic and open mindset that I both inhabit and practice in order to better understand the relationship I have to myself and the people that I share spaces with. I offer a holistic and psychodynamic approach to therapy, using tools from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Buddhist Psychology, Mindfulness, Somatics, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I look for the unique nuances that each client possesses and facilitate a space where clients can feel brave to confront their concerns, symptoms, and fears all while working to envision a path forward that feels manageable, satisfying, and even exciting. Overall, my style is direct with honest feedback, accountability, and insight to help clients move forward in their goals.
