Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Following a brief stint in thinking I'd make a good pastry chef, I began my undergraduate studies with the intent to become a grade school teacher. During my education classes, I began to realize that while teaching was close to what I wanted, I did not feel that it would allow me to make the kind of impact I wanted. After some reflection (and perhaps an existential crisis- got to love those college years!) I realized that at my core, I am called to help others. I don't just like providing therapy. It isn't just a job to me. It's something that, after I thought about my life for a while, I came to realize I was always going to do, because it's simply what I'm supposed to be doing.
People that seek therapy are hurting. They often feel alone, confused, and scared. I am honored to be able to be present with my clients through the toughest times in their lives and support them in the healing journey. I'm very glad I didn't go down the pastry chef route!

Work HistoryI began my work at Childplace, Inc in Jeffersonville, Indiana where I previously completed an internship in graduate school. As a therapist at Childplace, I often worked with children, teens, and families that experienced poverty, severe mental illness, and were involved with the foster care system. I became versed in helping children and families cope through trauma and find healing after struggling with suicidal thoughts and self harm.
During my time at Childplace, I began providing telehealth services through Cerebral Medical Group, where I continued my work with trauma, but with a focus on adults. This role allowed me to hone my telehealth skills while providing high-quality care.
In October, 2021, I began my private practice- Rooted Wisdom Counseling Services, LLC. where I continue to provide high quality telehealth services, primarily to those struggling with unwanted memories of the past. I have partnered with organizations such as Grow Therapy and Headway in order to provide quality care to those who wish to use their insurance.
