Get To Know Me
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
I was diagnosed as an adult with ADHD. Looking back, the challenges I had as a kid make a lot more sense, especially struggling to fit in. With lived experience, I love helping others understand what being neurodivergent means for them. I work with hard-working go-getters who are navigating the strengths and challenges of growing up or growing into themselves. I work with those who are having a hard time juggling their own responsibilities and are often the ones taking care of everyone else.
I have always loved working with teens. I worked at a learning center in high school and continued on professionally teaching, doing therapy, and running groups with teens, many of whom had ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, and backgrounds of trauma.
I've known people in my personal life with OCD and know how frustrating and impactful it can be on their lives and the lives of those around them. This has led me to specialize in OCD treatment to hopefully help people with OCD to find more peace in their lives and to assist their loved ones in supporting them.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
My approach is very practical! I’ve never liked abstract and generalized advice. “Just feel your feelings.” “Do some self-care.” I’m always asking, “Okay, but HOW do I do that?!” (For me I’ve figured out that means going for a hike.) As a practical therapist, that’s how I design the therapy work I do. I am an empathetic listening ear that will help you emotionally process AND THEN find something you can DO. We will experiment and make adjustments until you feel more settled and are thriving, instead of barely surviving.
What’s the most profound, insightful, or interesting thing you’ve learned as a mental health professional?
You never know what is going on inside someone's mind, no matter how they present on the outside.

Work HistoryAfter graduating with my B.S. in Psychology, I started in the mental health field working with adolescents and young adults in residential treatment settings. Many of these youth had challenges in school relating to their neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I assisted them with accomplishing their work and continuing on their paths to greater healing. During grad school, I worked in a middle school and ran an anxiety group for teen girls. After completing school, I transitioned into providing outpatient therapy to teens and adults online. I have continued to focus working with clients that have challenges related to their ADHD, anxiety, OCD, depression, and trauma.
