Get To Know Me
If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
"The Body Keeps the Score" by Bessel van der Kolk has greatly influenced my therapeutic approach. The book illustrates how trauma is stored in the body and underscores the importance of somatic work and mindfulness in healing. It guides me to integrate body-based awareness and gentle curiosity so that clients can reconnect with themselves and process experiences in a holistic way.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My journey to becoming a therapist has been guided by a lifelong curiosity about the human experience and a desire to support others through life’s challenges. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree, I spent several years in roles that allowed me to witness the transformative power of compassionate listening and authentic connection. This exposure, combined with my own experiences navigating anxiety and grief, inspired me to pursue formal training in clinical mental health counseling. Today, as a graduate student and pre‑licensed therapist, I am grateful to walk alongside individuals as they develop insight, resilience, and a deeper sense of self.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
It’s important to know that I view therapy as a collaborative relationship in which you are the expert on your own life and I am here to support you in discovering and reclaiming your inherent strengths. Our sessions are grounded in compassion, curiosity, and respect for your pace. I integrate somatic and mindfulness-based techniques to help you tune into your body’s wisdom and make sense of your experiences. We will work together to create a safe space where all parts of your story are welcome and where you can explore challenges, learn new skills, and cultivate greater self-awareness and connection.
