If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
The one book/movie that influenced my eclectic approach to therapy is The Color Purple. I believe the Color Purple is a book/movie rather issues of the characters, the socio-economic status, and social issues was the first book/movie that I helped me understand how to develop my own philosophy of counseling. My philosophy to counseling is "I do not see the person, I see the issues. Therefore, my mission is rooted in being a change agent to assist in Healing, Inspiring, and Transforming Lives.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
For Therapy to work, the relationship between the therapist and client is essential. Therapy is about working together as a team.
What does a first session with you look like?
A first session would be basically building rapport to see if the client and therapist is a good fit to move forward.
