Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
At first I thought my life was going to exclusively be about art. Then I went through a poetry and writing phase. It wasn't until I was studying English and American Literature at the Master's level that I realized I was most intrigued by is not just the work of various authors, poets, writers, artists, but their whole individual back stories: What happened to them? What inspired their work? What made them tick? What was going on in the world during their lifetime? Then it hit me. Psychology. So I went out for a second master's and discovered the existence of a field that suddenly felt like it was calling me home: Art Therapy. And here I am.

Education
Phillips Graduate Institute, Master of Arts, Psychology, 2018 — I graduated from a dual-program that led me to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Registered Art Therapist.
Work HistoryI have worked all sorts of jobs that helped shape the kind of therapist I am today. I have been a grocer, a portrait painter, a cashier, a web designer, a photographer's assistant, an instructor of Rhetoric Writing Studies for college freshman, a publishing intern, a waitress, a sales associate, and finally, an art therapist. All these points in my life served me and my lifelong fascination with the human psyche from multiple perspectives, and to combine my love of art with my love of psychology feels like I found just the right formula for working with people in the way that feels best for me.
