Mrs. charity hernandez, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, 129499 is practicing under the supervision of monet goldman (California, LMFT, 122804) at Channeling growth.
Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.
I had a troubled life growing up with a lot of trauma and dysfunction. I grew up mainly in foster care, and saw how there needed to be a better system of therapists out there who could understand better after I myself did not find a therapist I connected with. After growing up around a lot of trauma and my own struggles with mental health I wanted to be able to learn through school how to help myself but also to apply it to the clients I could help one day.
Connection! Building rapport and establishing a connection where a client feels safe and comfortable is key!
I really try to get to know the client first and start trying to build that connection with them. Ask them about themselves like hobbies, interests, likes/dislikes, therapy experiences etc., and what they hope to get out of their experience.

I have worked in a locked facility with adults of severe mental illness. I built rapport with these clients and helped them through hard times in managing their symptoms and behaviors on a daily basis. I worked with adolescents in a residential facility that struggled with their mental health. I transitioned to working virtual in an IOP/PHP program helping adults and adolescents with outpatient treatment by providing groups to help them build a skill set to be successful with their life they way they wanted to be.
