What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I believe that we each have the inherant ability to heal but we lose touch with this capacity due to experiences that disconnect us from our bodies, nature, and our sense of community. Because of this, we forget how to tap into our internal wisdom and healing resources. I'm here to help you reconnect to a sense of safety, to yourself, your environmant, your body, and to others. The foundation of counseling is in the therapeutic relationship. I aim to provide a safe space free of judgment for you to share your story. While you are the expert on your own experience, I can help you clarify and develop more self-trust by listening to your body and mind to develop a deep sense of self respect and inner safety.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I offer outdoor, walk and talk sessions in the Mount Washington Valley of New Hampshire as well as Telehealth. My therapeutic approach is strengths based, trauma-informed and client-centered. I specialize in EMDR, parts work, attachment based, mindfulness, and somatic therapies. Nature based sessions facilitate embodiment, grounding, mindfulness, resilience, self confidence and an inner sense of safety. Telehealth is an effective and convenient option for those with busy schedules, transportation barriers, physical limitations, or those who simply prefer to meet from the comfort of home. I will work with you to better understand past events and discover inner strengths so you can become an agent of change in your own life and foster greater emotional, cognitive, and relational wellbeing. We will collaborate to develop the nervous system capacity and resilience needed to overcome challenging situations and to more fully enjoy your life.

Work HistoryPrior to becoming a Therapist, I worked for 15 years as an outdoor educator, leading groups of youth and young adults on adventures of self discovery in nature. After four years of experience working as an outpatient therapist in community mental health agency settings I launched my own practice with the hopes of combining the benefits of outdoor experiences with therapeutic trauma-informed practices in order to help individuals connect more deeply with themselves, the environment and with others. Headwaters Mental Health LLC offers nature-based trauma informed therapy as well as telehealth therapy to New Hampshire and Maine residents. My integrated mind-body-nature approach to therapy is a great fit for many who have struggled with tradtional talk therapy. I specialize in treating trauma and chronic stress using somatic psychotherapy, EMDR, Internal family systems, mindfulness, and nature based approaches.
