Get To Know Me
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
What is important to know about working with me is that therapy will be warm, honest, and active. I am not the kind of therapist who only nods and asks, “How does that make you feel?” I will listen deeply, but I will also help you notice patterns, name what is happening, and build practical tools for change.
My work is trauma-informed and nervous-system aware, which means we will pay attention to both your thoughts and your body’s responses. Many people understand why they feel anxious, overwhelmed, shut down, or reactive, but insight alone does not always change the pattern. Together, we will work toward helping you feel more grounded, connected, and able to respond with choice instead of survival mode.
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
My personal experiences have helped me understand that healing is rarely linear and that people can look functional on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected internally. I bring that understanding into my work by meeting clients with compassion, honesty, and respect for the protective patterns that helped them survive.
These experiences have also shaped my belief that therapy should be both validating and practical. Clients deserve space to be fully heard, but they also deserve tools that help them understand their nervous system, communicate more clearly, set boundaries, and respond differently to painful patterns. My work is grounded in the belief that people are not broken. They are often carrying adaptive responses that made sense in context, and therapy can help create more choice, safety, and connection.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Clients can expect to leave sessions with more clarity, language, and practical tools. My goal is for you to better understand the patterns keeping you stuck, whether that is anxiety, rumination, conflict, shutdown, people-pleasing, intrusive thoughts, or emotional overwhelm.
Sessions with me are not just about talking through what happened. We will connect the dots between your thoughts, emotions, body responses, relationships, and protective patterns. You can expect to build skills for regulating your nervous system, communicating more clearly, setting boundaries, reducing avoidance, and responding with more choice instead of reacting from survival mode.
