Education
New Mexico State University, Doctorate of Philosophy, Counseling Psychology, 2018 — My training program emphasized social justice, integrated healthcare, behavioral health, indigenous ways of knowing and evidence-based practices around counseling. I have experience working in community mental health as well as in university counseling centers.
Work HistoryMy counseling experience started 10 years ago working in several university counseling centers with young adults struggling primarily with relationship issues, identity issues, developmental issues, family of origin trauma, as well as general difficulties with depression and anxiety. I have also worked with geriatric populations living in long-term care facilities. This work centered around grief, loss, loneliness and living with chronic pain and illness. Recently I have been working primarily with adults of all ages and adolescents who are being assessed for ADHD. I enjoy working with women, trans and nonbinary folks around issues related to identity development and relationships. I tend to take a broader systems-approach to therapy that examines the way systems we live in present challenges to our psychological and emotional well-being. As a musician I also enjoy working with artists around their identity and creative process.
