In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
As a therapist who has struggled with anxiety myself, I believe that it is possible to overcome even the most challenging mental health issues with the right support and tools. I know firsthand how overwhelming and debilitating anxiety can be, and I am committed to helping my clients develop the skills and strategies they need to manage their own anxiety and find greater peace and wellbeing in their lives.
Additionally, I take my personal experiences and look at how I wish I were treated as well as how I appreciated others treating me. This has shaped me as a therapist and helps me look at clients with empathy and understanding.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
The people around me describe me as a warm and caring person. I am pretty relaxed and let the session take us where it goes. What we find out at the end of session is that every 'random' thing we have talked about plays a part in your overall treatment goals. Some days you will want to share a lot, other days you'll share a little and make sure that you can trust me. We go at your pace. My relaxed style helps clients feel comfortable and reduces the pressure to share (which helps clients to share, weird, I know).

Work HistoryI have loved to listen to others for as long as I can remember. In 2015, my husband and I moved to El Salvador to work directly with an orphanage. I helped the kids develop social and emotional skills. When we returned to the states, I knew I wanted to further my skills and knowledge with mental health. I received my Masters of Arts in Counseling in 2020, completing my internships at Child Abuse Prevention Association and Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
I started out in private practice in 2021 at Connected Families Counseling in Kearney, providing in person and online counseling services to individuals.
