In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
My personality influences the way that I approach therapy. I am calm, curious and down-to-earth and I bring these qualities into sessions. I am not someone who pretends to have all the answers. I also won't force anyone to open up before being ready. I am deeply empathetic and honest, but also can be direct. I'll hold space, but I am also not afraid to gently challenge patterns or ask questions that invite growth. I listen to listen and work hard to help everyone feel like their voice is being heard, respected, and in control of their process. No pressure. No judgement.
What’s the most profound, insightful, or interesting thing you’ve learned as a mental health professional?
I would say that one of the most profound things that I've learned is that healing does not look like what we think it looks like. This is where the saying, "healing isn't linear" starts echoing through my mind. Healing is in those small, very quiet shifts - noticing a trigger without spiraling, feeling safe enough to cry, speaking up for themselves. But do you want to know the most powerful lesson I've learned? You can't rush trust. Whether I'm working with a child in foster care, or someone unpacking years (even decades) worth of silence, it can only move when the person feels safe. It's influenced how I approach sessions -- with patience, presence, and respect not only for the story but for the timing.

Work HistoryOver the years, I have either worked, interned or volunteered, in various areas of the social work and mental health field. From schools (elementary through high school), community programs, residential rehabilitation programs, to a decade within the child welfare system. Each role deepened my understanding of trauma, identity, and how people grow and heal. The experience I have includes supporting children, teens, adults and families. I've sat with individuals through some of the most difficult times of their lives. I specialize in trauma-informed care, and I approach therapy with curiosity, compassion and a deep respect for your story.
