Work HistoryI came to therapy work through my time at Our Place, a women's shelter in Reno. I sat with women who had survived situations most people can't imagine. My training at Capella University in Marriage and Family Therapy gave me the foundation, but the shelter work taught me to listen first and intervene second. What works for one person might completely miss the mark for another. I work with teenagers dealing with identity and peer pressure, adults wrestling with relationship problems or major life changes, and couples trying to reconnect or repair what's broken. I've also worked with families where communication has turned into constant conflict, and with individuals managing addiction, trauma, and complex mental health challenges. I use different therapeutic methods depending on what you need. Sometimes that's CBT for practical coping strategies, DBT for emotional regulation, or ACT for values-based living. Other times it's family systems work or trauma-focused therapy. My job is to support you in doing the hard work that leads to change. Ready to start?
