Professional Background
LicensureNew York, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, 078250
Training/CertificationsI am a certified SAFETalk facilitator. SAFE is Suicide Alertness for Everyone program.I am certified in Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) where I supervise undergraduate and graduate students seeking to become Social Workers.
Education
Columbia University, Master of Social Work, Advanced Clinical Practice, 2003 — I studied Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) guided by the teachings of Marsha Linehan. I also studied group therapy practices by Dr. Irvin Yalom.
Work HistoryI graduated with my Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University in 2003. However, prior to my graduate studies, I have very humble beginnings working as a caseworker in foster care and supporting children and families impacted by trauma and substance abuse. After obtaining my MSW, I became an evaluator for children and adolescents in NYC Family Courts and then transitioned to Clinical Social Work where I began treating individual and families in outpatient community based clinics. I support and welcome clients from all walks of life and embrace diversity and inclusion. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. However, I do not necessarily subscribe to a "one size fits all" approach to treatment. We are each unique and so should be your journey of self discovery and healing.
