What does a first session with you look like?

During our first session, we will be getting to know one another. We'll go over the administrative piece at the beginning and review our paperwork, and then I'll guide us through some topics. We can get as deep or surface level as you feel comfortable, and we'll touch on current concerns, history with mental health, family and other relationships, lifestyle and health. Towards the end, I'll share how my experience will be relevant to our work together, and we'll set some goals and discuss a schedule that works for both of us.

Work History

I've been in the private practice space for 5 1/2 years now and have been at my current practice for 4 1/2 of them. Here, I've developed my therapy style, which I describe as holistic in nature, and client centered in practice. I have a foundation of talk therapy (processing, problem solving, etc.) and a sprinkling of skill building (coping, routines, communication, etc.) as it's needed. I view the client from a whole person lens, and enjoy exploring habits, lifestyle choices, routines, and other facets that make up our life to tackle any mental health struggles we may be experiencing. Prior to my current role, I have experience in a community mental health center, and my internship was at a residential center for adults so I've been in a few different settings.
